It’s not anything new when you hear people say, “I want to do my own thing.”
That’s one of the reasons that God destroyed the world with the flood.
Genesis chapter six tells us that mans mind and thoughts were only evil continually, and the earth was filled with violence.
Do you know why the world was filled with violence?
Do you know why, when you read the newspaper or watch the six o’clock news, that you find violence here and violence there?
It’s because of the way people live and because of there minds.
Their very thoughts, every thought they had was of evil, and the earth was filled with violence.
Noah was a preacher of righteous. He went to these people and asked them to do right.
It’s not popular to tell people that they need to live by Gods word, but it is the right thing to do.
The first message of God, through Noah, was to correct the “lifestyle” of the people.
Just before Jesus left this world, he met with his apostles and said,”thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning in Jerusalem.(Luke 24:46)
He said, you go out into every nation and the first thing you do is to tell people to repent.”
Notice this, He did not tell them to go out into the world and tell people to set their own life style!!
He said to tell people to “correct” their lives.
If there is anything in the world that the bible teaches, it’s that God sets the pattern for a man’s life. He tells us how to live, how to walk and how to act.
When people turn from that, it is my duty, and your duty, and the duty of all Christians to call them back to repentance.
Brother Gus Nichols said, ” the jails are full, the prisons are crowded, and the world is full of broken homes, broken hearts, and broken lives, all because men would not repent.”
Have you repented?
If you will come to him, regardless of who you are ,or where you’ve been, sincerely repenting of your sins, and obey his gospel, he will wash you and make you as white as snow.
Will you do it?
Make obedience to God’s word your lifestyle !
