…….WHYs IN LIFE?
God records in Genesis of his creation of the earth and mankind (Gen. 1:26, 28ff) in God’s image and able to enjoy the ‘good’ of God’s creation and to have the ability to use creatures and plants of His creation.
Adam and Eve were placed in a Garden of Eden, a perpetual paradise wherein no uncertainties of life, diseases or death would come. In the sin committed, they were cast out into an earth filled with ‘dust and thorns’ (words teaching us of the uncertainties of life outside the Garden of Eden).
The uncertainties of life were with Adam and Eve and death came upon them (Genesis 5). We are born away from the ‘Tree of Life’. We, too, don’t live physically forever here on earth. Sometimes death comes due to accidents, diseases, forced action (murder) by others and age (aged bodies).
God allows this to happen. His great plan through Jesus (John 14:6) is to provide ‘the way, the truth and the life’ through Him. Thus, we live this life ever preparing for the time when we will not live in these physical bodies
(2 Corinthians 4 and 5). We are taught by Jesus to ‘live the abundant life as well as live’ (John 10:10). This we should do.
We thank God for his great plan, though we often may wonder ‘Why'(in shocking and surprising situtions which result in the loss of physical life). Paul, the apostle,
wrote :
“13 There isn’t any temptation that you have experienced which is unusual for humans. God, who faithfully keeps his promises, will not allow you to be tempted beyond your power to resist. But when you are tempted, he will also give you the ability to endure the temptation as your way of escape.
