Providence of God
THE PROVIDENCE OF GOD FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM AND ARE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE:

GOD’S PROVIDENCE FOR US
(ROMANS 8:28)

I. WE _______THAT ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER (RO. 8:28)
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love
God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

=Paul begins with a basic axiom: We know. Then he states this truth:
To those loving God, he (i.e., God) works all things together for good.
Paul puts the phrase "to those loving God" first so that there will be no
mistake about who are involved in "God works all things together for
good." It is for those who continually express love for God both in
attitude and action.

II. THINGS WORK __________FOR GOOD (RO. 8:28)
we know that all things work together for good

=They shall cooperate; they shall mutually contribute to our good. They
take off our affections from this world; they teach us the truth about
our frail, transitory, and lying condition; they lead us to look to God for
support, and to heaven for a final home;

III. WE MUST MAINTAIN THE ____FOR GOD (RO. 8:28)
for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to
his purpose.

=This includes all the out-goings of the soul's affections towards God as
the chief good and highest end.
(from Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible: New Modern Edition, Electronic
Database. Copyright (c) 1991 by Hendrickson Publishers, Inc.)

=It is not said that all things shall work for good, but that sunergei
(NT:4903), they work now on the behalf of the ones who love now,
agapoosin (NT:25); for both verbs are in the present tense.
