2008 Annual Report/Benefactors ![]() The church in Batesville needs extra space. We have over 100 young adults and children of the congregation. Combine this need with the call of our son, Bobby, from Alamo, TN. and my seeking to draw my social security moneys (thereby help the financial side the Batesville church as we seek another young worker) and you may see the providence of God. Bobby, now teaching school at Crockett County as well as preaching at Alamo, TN. church, noted, “I’d like to start the *training of several Christians here in September of 2008”. Thus, we began a relocation of the some 14,000 items of the In the future, IF YOU TRAVEL TO THE PHYSICAL LOCATION OF *TRAINING SCHOOL FOR BETTER SERVICE*........ PLANNING AND GOD’S PROVIDENCE My elders and the congregation in Batesville are allowing me to downsize over the next four years. This year I’ve been responsible for various personal work , preaching on 4th Sundays and filling in for Michael Bates as he visits elsewhere in Gospel meetings and lectureships. They’ve accepted me as missionary to small churches in northern Mississippi and when the brethren at Charleston heard I was more available on some Sundays, they invited to preach there “as much as you can.” And, “What if I’m gone in Gospel meetings or carrying out my responsibilities in the Batesville church?” They noted, “Some men associated with the *Training School For Better Service* could come and fill-in for you, possibly.” I was in contact with a variety of preachers and we set up a team upon whom I can call to preach when I’m not there. The providence of God in helping the Batesville church, me and the various congregations who stepped up to house the biblical materials is truly outstanding. I knew, upon agreeing to move the materials, everything would work out. God has promised (Romans 8:28-32). And to see this develope within various congregations who have in themselves benefitted from the *TSFBS* throughout the years is an extra blessing to me. 2008 Report *Training School For Better Service* Page 3 The work is progressing so well; the internet students are over 200 now. The latest student is a Christian lady from Spain. Brother Ted Knight of Conway, Arkansas, knew of her from his mission work in Romania. She desires to convert others and have them join her in worship in Spain, her home. Her studies in the Personal Worker Phase involved techniques in teaching others. She is a faithful sister in Christ just desiring to do *better service. This is what we are all about. And, you are a part of such work. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP Your estate planning, putting us in your will or other planned giving helps us in this work tremendously. The usual costs of such an operation is an every year occurance as mentioned below in the box. Please, don’t forget us; we are at the same address. Brother Jim Dickerson continues as our treasurer with the account at Bancorp South. Balance 11/2/08 is ___+___. FUTURE EVENTS, LORD WILLING Teaching trips in 2009 into south Misssissippi may exhaust current funds. We save to be able to do this work ‘in the black’ always. We’re told that some of you have us in your will; thank you. We only pray for you good health and appreciate your looking forward to helping this good work go on in the future. You are one of our benefactors, for sure. HOPE Wonderful word, isn’t it! Surely, someone will always seek to help those who wish to serve, but are unable to attend a formal school, college or university. There are skilled and blessed people who can serve the church’s efforts so well, if just a little *training is done. When my late father-in-law, William Hull and I talked and planned this school every plan was for the *school to be within the work of the local church. I hope those who know us best will keep offering hope to those who wish to serve *better. The work of *training Christian workers is for all of us to embrace. Remember: ‘The things heard and learned....commit to faithful men who shall be able to teach others’ (2 Timothy 2:2). Helping teachers to be ‘able’ to teach/preach is our goal. Thank you for assisting us in this work. Visit the website. Use the techniques. Be in touch. Ask us questions. Revisit for suggestions. Let’s serve *better in 2009. ![]() |
